Christina Rothstein, M.S. Ed

Co-Director Evergreen ELL

I am a literacy specialist and academic coach with a background in teaching and special education. I have helped hundreds of children improve their reading and writing skills through a better understanding of the English language. My family and I live in a community and attend schools with many people who are learning English as a non-primary language, and I am the daughter of a first-generation immigrant who learned English on his own. This has inspired me to bring these two worlds together.

Mark Beitel, Ph.D.

Co-Director Evergreen ELL

I am a Research Scientist in the Child Study Center, Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry, and Lecturer in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration at Yale University where I teach and learn about issues in mental health, education, and culture. In addition, I co-founded and co-directed a Connecticut State-approved special education school for children who learn differently. I am also a dedicated second-language learner, having practiced Spanish for the past 40 years!
